About us

Introduction

Office Ten is a London-based architecture practice dedicated to the quiet power of preservation and renewal. We give new life to existing spaces by tackling complex challenges across architecture and beyond.

Since 2017, we’ve honed an approach that maximises existing space and adapts it to contemporary living. Guided by the belief that functionality is key to a good life, we focus solely on what’s necessary to minimise environmental impact and create diverse spatial experiences.

Drawing on our native Norwegian and Japanese traditions, our work combines the natural beauty and strength of raw materials with considered construction techniques and functional layouts. By aligning these elements with the needs of our clients and society at large, we create spaces for a more intentional way of life to unfold.

Services

Architectural design

We are actively involved at every stage of the design and build process, from the initial appraisal to technical detailing and coordination with consultants. Our role extends beyond drawings: we manage planning applications, liaise with authorities, source trusted professionals and refine designs to maximise the chances of approval. As the project progresses, we remain hands-on, ensuring seamless integration of structural elements, materials and construction, so that every project may reach its full potential.

Complementary services

Beyond architectural design, we offer a range of complementary services to streamline the process and support you throughout your project.

Project lead

Ensuring your project keeps moving forward, from finding the right design team to managing timelines and overcoming potential hurdles.

The team

Erika Suzuki (BEng MEng DipArch MArch ARB) and Anders Strand Luhr (MArch ARB RIBA) met while studying at Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL). Curious about the potential of architecture to improve lives for clients and communities as well as for those who practice it, they established Office Ten to cement their vision for a better way of life.

The team combines their practice with research through teaching at the Architectural Association and University of Greenwich, where they have established a design unit focused exclusively on working with existing buildings.

In 2024, ‘Apartment with a Mezzanine’ was shortlisted for the Don’t Move, Improve! Award and exhibited at the NLA’s London Centre. In 2025, the firm will exhibit their ‘Greenest House’ project at the Venice Biennale ofArchitecture, as part of the “TIME SPACE EXISTENCE” exhibition.
